Objective: To describe the profile of cervical lesions in women diagnosed by histopathological exams and the treatment of precancerous lesions of the cervix. Method: A cross-sectional and quantitative study conducted at the Provincial Hospital of Xai-Xai, Gaza, Mozambique, with data from patients diagnosed with cervical lesions between 2018 and 2022. Women aged 25 to 64, referred due to altered results in visual inspection with acetic acid (VIA >75%), were included. Participants underwent Papanicolaou, colposcopy, biopsy, and loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP). Results: The average age was 40.3 years, and 98.3% of participants were housewives. Of the 633 women, 97.5% underwent colposcopy, with 81.1% showing low and high-grade lesions. Cytology revealed 70.7% of normal cases, 10.9% HSIL, 6.8% LSIL, and 4.8% ASC-US. Of the 117 biopsies, 59.8% showed moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma, 9.4% invasive carcinoma, and 4.3% adenocarcinoma. Treatment with LEEP was performed in 62.7% of the women, with more than half diagnosed with LSIL (50.9%). Conclusion: The study highlights the complexity of diagnosis, with the majority of women diagnosed with moderately differentiated squamous cell carcinoma. It emphasizes the importance of early detection of precancerous lesions
