Objective: to adapt and validate the Female-Male Sexual and Reproductive Behavior Intention Scale in Mexican adolescents in school. Method: cross-sectional methodological study in three phases: cultural adaptation, pilot test and validation. A total of 496 adolescents (10-19 years old) participated. Sex-differentiated versions were applied. Independent exploratory factor analyses were performed using principal components with Oblimin rotation in SPSS, and reliability estimates. Results: the scale showed adequate internal consistency in both versions (ω = .71–.75). The exploratory factor analysis confirmed a valid two-factor structure. In the female version, two factors explained 63.89% of the variance: Risk Intention (4 items, λ = 0.706–0.792) and Protection Intention (2 items, λ = 0.840–0.879), with a non-significant correlation (r = 0.064). In the male version, two factors explained 62.80% of the variance: Intention to Risk (4 items, λ = 0.661–0.783) and Intention to Protect (2 items, λ = 0.855–0.867), with a low negative correlation (r = −0.115). Conclusions: the scale is a valid and reliable instrument to assess sexual intention in Mexican adolescents, becoming a useful tool for sexual health research and intervention.
