NEGLIGENCE AND THE FAMILY FACE OF NON-LETHAL VIOLENCE AGAINST CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS IN BRAZIL

This research analyzes updated data published by the 17th Yearbook of Public Security (2024), relating to incidents recorded in 2023, the year that was considered the most violent for children and adolescents until moment. The Violence Atlas (2024) was also used as a database to understand the high rates of non-lethal violence committed by those who they should take care and not hurt Brazilian children and adolescents. THE negligence stands out among non-lethal violence committed against children and adolescents in the context of domestic violence. The first stage of the research is bibliographical with consultation of a theoretical-conceptual collection; in the second stage we analyzed the existing legal contributions and, finally, in the last stage, we used the quantitative (statistical) and theoretical data as a way of constructing criticisms of Brazilian reality. It is concluded that despite advances in legislation and adequacy of the severity of sentences for the aggressor, domestic violence against child remains practiced.Downloads
