THE NAKADO'TU LANGUAGE IN EVERYDAY VILLAGE LIFE AND IN THE SCHOOL CONTEXT

This article presents the sociolinguistic situation of the Nakado'tu-Negarotê people, focusing on the use of their mother tongue in the villages and in the Vale do Guaporé Indigenous Municipal School, located in the Central Negarotê village, within the Vale do Guaporé Indigenous Land, in the municipality of Comodoro-MT. It was produced as a requirement for the subject “Language Policies”, offered in the Professional Master's course of the postgraduate program in “Teaching in an Intercultural Indigenous Context” -PPGECII/UNEMAT. The main objective is to show how the Nakado'tu language is used, both in the communities and in the school environment. The research follows a qualitative approach, based on interviews with elders, leaders, teachers and young people, in order to understand the linguistic dynamics and challenges faced by the Nakado'tu people in the current context.
