This text was produced from an excerpt from the dissertation research presented at the Stricto Sensu Graduate Program in Teaching Science and Mathematics – PPGECM – at the State University of Mato Grosso – UNEMAT – Campus Barra do Bugres, on different aspects of dynamics of the cultural encounter, from the perspective of indigenous families who migrated to the city, with the theme: The dynamics of the encounter of indigenous families in the urban space of Matupá/MT and the school as a multicultural place. Focusing on the processes of their adaptation to urban life and their children at school. We seek to describe the reasons that led the studied families to migrate to the city, and showing the Indigenous people's view on how the non-indigenous inhabitants welcome them and on the characteristics of the relationships established until then. In this way we tell The Stories of the Indigenous Peoples that Inhabited the City of Matupá, to tell this story we based on the Doctoral Theses of Alceu Zoia and Paulo Augusto Mário Isaac and on the research of the author Ester de Souza Oliveira. These Research tell historical elements of the constitution of the Terena and Kayapó people and their productive, political, cultural, educational organizations and the identity of these peoples. Seeking to understand the process of social construction of the Community studied through oral and documentary reports and data collection to know the way of life of a people and its history.
