Abstract

This article presents an account of the experience with the “Halloween Week” project, carried out with students from 1st to 5th grade of elementary school in a municipality of Mato Grosso. The goal was to promote English language learning through interactive and cultural activities related to the theme of Halloween. The results showed that students actively participated, developing individual and, above all, group activities in a harmonious manner and with greater interest in the English language. Despite the initial resistance of two students, the project created a space where children could express themselves orally, physically, and artistically, integrating their participation with peers and the teacher.
