Abstract

The article is a reflection on the possibility of understanding science from a work of art, more specifically the film: Ponto de Mutação. It highlights the diversity of ways of interpreting things in the world such as economics, politics, science and technology. Based on the sociology of knowledge and science, it demonstrates the variability of conceptions about the process of building scientific knowledge in the organization of the research community and social actors such as public managers, social movements and companies. The demonstrations and arguments pervade the interests, attitudes and paradigms of scientific and technological knowledge, from overcoming the concept of neutral sciences to understanding the sciences as social constructions intertwined with personal and social values.
